We are only a few hours from the beginning of the Virginia Forum. Please find a few last minute details/reminders--

Registration

If you have pre-registered, we will have a packet with name tag, Forum program, receipt, drink tickets and assorted flyers ready for you at the registration locations found on the Conference Program (attached). Ifhave not pre-registered, you may register at the conference. PLEASE NOTE--WE ARE UNABLE TO TAKE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT AT THE CONFERENCE. CHECKS AND CASH ONLY.

Parking/Transportation

Thursday:
Thursday night’s plenary session will be held at the Massanutten Regional Library at 174 S. Main Street (on the corner of Bruce Street) in downtown Harrisonburg. Free parking is available throughout the downtown, but you should park in the parking deck located on S. Liberty Street between Bruce and Water Streets (see PDF map, http://downtownharrisonburg.indigofiles.com/Downtown_Map_2011.pdf).

Participants are invited to meet at Union Station for Dutch Dinner immediately following the plenary session. http://www.unionstationdowntown.com/site/ Union Station is located at the intersection of North Liberty and West Market Streets approximately three blocks from the Library.

Friday:
During the week parking is problematic on the James Madison University campus. If you are staying at a hotel, you would be best served to leave your car there. On Friday, the Forum will provide shuttle buses

•       between the conference hotels and Taylor Hall from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m.—4:45 p.m. 
•       between Taylor Hall and the Kline’s Mill Barn for the Evening Reception from 4:45 p.m.—5:30 p.m. 
•       between Kline’s Mill Barn, the conference hotels and the Festival Conference Center 7:00 p.m. — 8:00 p.m. 
•       between Festival and conference hotels 8:45-9:30 
•       between the conference hotels and the downtown square from 9:15 p.m.-11:45 p.m.

For those of you driving to campus on Friday, March 30, you may park in the C-4 Parking Lot just off of Cantrell Avenue in the Hillside Area of campus between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. No parking permits will be necessary. Guests are prohibited from parking in specialty spaces such as Service Vehicle spaces, handicap spaces without proper permit, or expired meters. They are also prohibited from parking in Fire Lanes. Directions to the C-4 Lot: Exit I 81 at 247B. Head west on E. Market. Turn left at the first stop light on to Cantrell Avenue. Proceed west on Cantrell through two lights. Turn left into the C-4 Parking Lot (just after the light that intersects with Paul Street) Please consult the Harrisonburg City map (http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Harrisonburg&state=VA) and the JMU parking map (http://web.jmu.edu/parking/parkingmap.pdf ) for the location of the C-4 Lot.

Parking for attendees with disabilities: Those attendees needing special parking should park in the handicapped spaces (there are 8) in Parking Lot E on the JMU campus. (This lot is located adjacent to the Grace Street Parking Deck—see below). You must have a special plate or license tag to park in these spaces.

Saturday:
Parking on the James Madison University campus is free and open to the public on Saturdays. You will be best served to park in the Grace Street Parking Deck http://www.jmu.edu/map/bluestone.shtml

Wireless:
Taylor Hall has wireless access but for reasons which I cannot discern is reluctant to make usernames and passwords for Taylor wireless access readily available. If you need to use wireless while at the conference, check at the registration desk and we can provide you with the necessary username/password.

This message is a reminder that the registration fee for the 2012 Virginia Forum at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, is $72.50 ($40 for graduate/undergraduate students) through Thursday, March 22. The late registration fee, from March 23 through March 31, is $90.

The program and registration for the 2012 Virginia Forum are now available on the Virginia Forum Web site, http://www.virginiaforum.org/conference.html. The conference will take place at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Virginia, Thursday-Saturday, March 29-31, 2012.
